Contribute to an open source project with broad applications globally. This position will be responsible for developing web-based client software that connects to OpenSensorHub web services. This position will support visualization and integration of disparate sensor data within a geospatial and analytical framework. You will interact with standards-based web services and RESTful interfaces for access to and management of sensors and sensor data.
The candidate will work in a small team environment where each member is critical. The candidate must be forward thinking, open to learning new skills, and have the ability to see the bigger picture. Must have the ability to work without constant direction, and be a self learner and self initiator. We’re looking for problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, and the ability to collaborate in an open, Agile, Git-based team environment.
The Huntsville/Madison, Alabama area is strongly preferred but we’ll consider remote candidates with requisite skills. Company poised to grow.
Requirements
- US Citizenship Required
- Javascript and Java skills imperative. Will require good object-oriented design skills; must be fluent in coding and be capable of designing software architectures for small to medium projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail oriented
- Desire and willingness to step out of comfort zone
Preferences
- 3-5+ years experience. Appropriate computer science or EE degrees desired, although degrees not as critical as ability to produce.
- Geospatial and sensor integration experience a plus; DOD/IC user interface experience a plus; Experience with TAK clients and TAKServer not required but is a significant plus.
- Experience with any of the following is advantageous: Cesium3D, OpenLayers, Leaflet, MapBox, WebGL, NASA World Wind, web-based data visualizations, and Unity. DevOps experience is a plus.
- Experience with Android mobile device development is a significant plus.
- Security clearances are helpful but not required.
